The Tiroler Wissenschaftsfonds supports sigma receptor research.
The Neonatal Neuroscience Research Group has recently received a positive funding decision of the Tiroler Wissenschaftsfonds (TWF) on the project "Evaluation of dehydroepiandrosterone and its sulfate ester as a therapeutic strategy in neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury" (applicant: Anna Posod).
The Neonatal Neuroscience Research Group has recently received a positive funding decision of the Tiroler Wissenschaftsfonds (TWF) on the project "Evaluation of
dehydroepiandrosterone and its sulfate ester as a therapeutic strategy in neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury" (applicant: Anna Posod).
This project assesses the therapeutic potential of endogenic sigma receptor agonists (dehydroepiandrosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate) in established in vitro and in vivo models of perinatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury and is designed to provide further data on the implication of the sigma receptor in developmental brain injury
cascades.
